When the gospel was preached for the first time to a Gentile, it was accompanied by an unusual sign. It was so extraordinary, the New Testament records it happening only one other time, on the day of Pentecost. Why did the Holy Spirit fall upon Cornelius and those gathered in his house? Was it a sign that salvation had already come to this family or was there some other reason for this sudden supernatural outpouring?
