4th Grade Close Reading Part 2
(This is PART 2 of the lesson) Jason Willoughby from Leverage Learning Group takes a class of 4th grade students through a reading of complex informational text. The standard and purpose for reading the text is to determine the main idea of a text and explain how it is supported by key details. Jason reads the text multiple times with students, models effective instructional strategies, demonstrate collaboration techniques, and manages the classroom proactively. Students were obviously struggling with the text and some of the activities, so its important to see how Jason changes the lesson to better adapt to the students by providing additional background information, graphic organizers, and scaffolds. This is PART 2 on the lesson. PART 1 can be also found on the Leverage Learning Group YouTube channel. For more information on professional development and support, contact [email protected]
