Ce trou cache une histoire oubliée en Haute-Savoie | Instinct Découvertes

The magic of LiDAR takes me today to the hills above Annecy, in pursuit of the mystery of a constellation of depressions. In the heart of the Mandallaz massif, these strange cavities appear to be nothing more than simple holes lost in the forest. Yet, they tell a forgotten story. By following the clues left by the landscape and historical records, this exploration reveals the remains of an old iron ore mine, long hidden beneath the trees. You will discover how farmers from neighboring villages came to extract this ore when their fieldwork allowed, leaving behind a little-known heritage that has shaped this region. Further proof that the landscapes we travel through often conceal far more than they reveal.
