Disused Railway walk Kemble Cirencester Line
Once a vital link between the Kemble main line between Gloucester, Cheltenham and London, it was abandoned in the sixties. Just before closure a railcar was tried but still couldn't save the line from closing. Some unusual finds including the base of a plate layers hut, along with the usual sleeper fence posts and the site of a halt. This link would be useful again today and plans have been suggested to reopen it, would be nice but I doubt it will happen. Still a nice walk through Cotswold country with even a glimpse of the old Severn and Thames canal. My passion has been walking, I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s last year and walking does not come naturally any more, however the more I walk the easier it gets, for now anyway. I hope these video’s will inspire others to keep going and hanging on in there.
