David Fincher's fifth feature film, Panic Room, is a tense, dread-filled horror/thriller that contains many often-overlooked details, like the tie in with legendary horror author Edgar Allan Poe, several connections to his second film, Se7en, symbolic camerawork, creative editing, generally unknown cameos and more. Whenever you talk about Panic Room, it's hard not to discuss the ending, and many are left confused. There's a scene late in the movie where police show up to Meg's door, but she has to send them away without raising the alarm to ensure her daughter's safety with the burglars.
