According to historical accounts, Bibi Fatima passed away on March 3, 633 CE, due to injuries sustained during a confrontation with the caliphate's representatives. The incident occurred when a group of people, led by Umar ibn Al-Khattab, who was the second caliph, and a companion of the Prophet, arrived at the house of Ali ibn Abi Talib, Bibi Fatima's husband. The visitors were seeking to secure Ali's oath of allegiance to Abu Bakr, who had been elected as the first caliph. However, Ali was hesitant to pledge his allegiance, as he believed that he was the rightful successor to the Prophet. The situation escalated, and Umar ibn Al-Khattab allegedly threatened to set the house on fire if Ali did not emerge. In the ensuing chaos, Bibi Fatima was severely injured, reportedly due to being crushed between the door and the wall. She suffered a miscarriage and eventually passed away due to her injuries. The circumstances surrounding Bibi Fatima's death have been the subject of much debate and controversy. Shia Muslims generally believe that Umar ibn Al-Khattab and other companions were responsible for her death, while Sunni Muslims tend to view the incident as an unfortunate accident. Despite these differing perspectives, the tragic loss of Bibi Fatima remains a deeply sorrowful event in Islamic history.
