Join us for this book launch in which author Matthew Greenslade describes the damage being done by the World Bank’s insistence on pursuing a poverty-targeted approach to social protection (social security, or the benefit system) in lower income countries. Speakers Matthew Greenslade is an economist who has worked on social protection for 25 years, first as a government official on the UK benefit systems, from 1996 to 2003, then in developing countries for the UK Department for International Development, from 2003 to 2016, and after that as a consultant with a company called Development Pathways. Rachel Sabates-Wheeler, Director of Research, IDS. Stephen Devereux, IDS Research Fellow, IDS. You can download Matthew's book here: https://www.bloomsbury.com/uk/beyond-...
