The SXI Corsas were very popular back in the early 2000's but it's very rare now o find one that has not been boy-racered in some fashion. I took this car in part exchange from a young lady who had owned the car for the past 5 years - she inherited it from her grandad who had it for 17 years (ie. Most of its life). While our Corsa is not a show car by any means (It has areas of paint that have been touched in with a rattle can and there is some sagging in the cloth on the seats as seen on the photos), it is however, very well presented and original. It even has its original alloy wheels, which are scuffed but again, presentable condition. Most importantly though, this car drives as it should. It feels solid and well-planted on the road with no notable rattle or squeaks, even over the pot-hole ridden roads of South Wales, The engine pulls well through the gears, the clutch action is good as is the gearchange on the 5 speed manual 'box. 73bhp may not sound a lot, but the Corsa weighs in at under a tonne so you will be surprised how genuinely nippy it is. I got a feeling of nostalgia driving this car - They really were one of the most sought after hatchbacks around back in the early 2000's and even by modern standards this SXI Corsa still felt sharp.
