The Ridges is a former psychiatric hospital that is known for its eerie architecture and haunting history. This abandoned wing was still very much original when recorded and most likely looked the same as it did in the 1970s. In this video, you will see footage of the abandoned wards, cells, and corridors of the asylum wing. You will also learn about the history of the Ridges and the Kirkbride Plan, which was the architectural style used to design many psychiatric hospitals in the 19th century.
