Batumi is located just a dozen or so kilometers north of Turkey, but let's not forget that it's also relatively close to Russia and the bordering country of Abkhazia. The capital of Adjara is also a port on the Black Sea, which played a crucial role on ancient trade routes leading from Europe to the Far East. It's undeniable that Batumi is a very diverse and multi-faith city today, as we'll demonstrate in this episode.
