Repairing a Damaged Blade Guard and Bent Arbor Flange on Chicago Electric 12-Inch Miter Saw 69684

In this video I show my trials and tribulations trying to restore a 12-Inch Chicago Electric Sliding Compound Miter saw back to normal operation after a kick-back destroyed the plastic guard and bent the inner arbor flange. I attempted to use parts off of the new Admiral version of the saw (64686) but Harbor Freight's parts department messed up my flange order twice. I finally discovered (while shopping for a new saw) that the flange from a DeWALT was very similar to the original Chicago Electric design. I replaced the guard and flanges and the saw has been working fine for about a year now. Deep down I will always wonder if I should have just bought a new one....
