Jaguar MkI & MkII FIA Race Car Pure Sound ! Tour Auto 2021
In the first half of the 1950s, Jaguar wanted to broaden its customer base by offering a modern, affordable saloon car in its class. It was introduced in 1955 as the 2.4l. It was the brand's first unibody car and its entirely new bodywork was designed by William Lyons, whose elegant style is recognisable. The engine is a new version of the twin-cam in-line six that has proved itself on other Jaguars, as is the independent front suspension. The car's qualities, its price against the competition and the appropriateness of its arrival in the range alongside the sportier XK140 coupe and cabriolet and the more luxurious Mark VII saloon quickly brought it the success the brand had hoped for. The timely addition of a 3.4 litre version from 1957 enabled it to approach 40,000 units sold when production ceased in 1959. The Jaguar Mark 2 or MK2 (which means series two) is a Jaguar car model marketed from 1959 to 1967. The MK2 was very popular in competition (touring category) and won the Tour de France automobile on four consecutive occasions in the hands of Bernard Consten. "The most beautiful car in the world", the fastest production sedan in the world"... there is no shortage of adjectives to describe the Mk2. It brought sport within driving distance of family fathers. Event: -Tour Auto 2021 Specs: Engine: Inline 6 N/A 3.4L Power: 210 hp (+300 hp race version) Weight: nc Top Speed: nc
