Welcome back to another episode of my Hitchhiking Across India journey! ❤️ In today’s vlog, I explore Sivasagar, Assam, one of the most historic cities in Northeast India. Once the capital of the mighty Ahom Kingdom, Sivasagar is home to centuries-old monuments, royal palaces, ancient temples, and a rich cultural heritage that many travelers have never seen. During this journey, I visit the iconic Rang Ghar, often called Asia’s oldest surviving amphitheatre, the mysterious Talatal Ghar, the royal Kareng Ghar, and the beautiful Sivasagar Tank (Borpukhuri). Every monument tells the incredible story of the Ahom dynasty, which ruled Assam for nearly 600 years and successfully resisted several Mughal invasions. Apart from history, I also experience the peaceful atmosphere, local Assamese culture, delicious food, tea gardens, and the warm hospitality of the people of Sivasagar.
