Just Eat More | Gabriella Gurney | TEDxStLawrenceU
When we think of eating disorders, we think of a very select group as being the only ones affected. We have ideas in our minds about who gets them, and what it means to have one. Gabriella Gurney, a Senior at St. Lawrence University, breaks down some of the stereotypes and negative stigmas attached to eating disorders and mental health issues, and begins a conversation about how we can move forward and do more than advising those affected to "just eat more." Ella is a senior at St. Lawrence University double majoring in Conservation Biology and Performance Arts with a minor in African Studies. She is a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society, as well as Chi Alpha Sigma, the National College Athlete Honor Society. She is a member of the St. Lawrence Track and Field Team and works in the Center for International and Intercultural Studies on campus. She studied abroad in Kenya in Spring '16 and has been in multiple dramatic productions on campus. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
