Alfenim, um dos doces mais deliciosos do Sertao Nordestino 19 de setembro de 2025 Sertao mamoeiro

🍬 What is Alfenim? It's a traditional artisanal sweet of Arab-Iberian origin that arrived in Brazil during the Portuguese colonization period. Made primarily of sugar and water, it's kneaded into a white, malleable paste, which is then hand-molded into various shapes: flowers, birds, saints, animals, hearts, etc. It's very common in Northeastern states such as Sergipe, Alagoas, Ceará, and Bahia. It's often served at religious festivals (such as Holy Week) and cultural fairs. 📖 Fun fact: The name comes from the Arabic "al-fanid," meaning refined sugar sweet.
