His goal: to demonstrate the continuity and fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets in Jesus. 👨‍💼✍️📜 Main Theme: Jesus as the Messiah King — From the very beginning (the genealogy of Abraham and David), Matthew presents Jesus as the rightful heir to the throne of David. He is the Son of David, who brought with Him the Kingdom of Heaven. 👑✨ Structure: Five Great Discourses — The Gospel is built around five great sermons of Jesus (e.g., the Sermon on the Mount), each of which concludes with the phrase, "When Jesus had finished saying these words..." This is reminiscent of the Five Books of Moses, presenting Jesus as the new and greatest Lawgiver. 5️⃣🗣️ Key Verses — "Do not think that I came to destroy the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to destroy them but to fulfill them" (5:17). And the Great Commission: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me... Go ye and make disciples of all nations" (28:18-19). ⚖️🌍 From the Jews to all nations—Although the Gospel is addressed to the Jews, it concludes with a universal mission. The Kingdom offered to Israel is now open to all nations. 🤝🌏 **The Gospel of Matthew is a bridge between the Old and New Testaments.
