Goalie Depth & Breakaways - Understanding the importance of challenging the shooter

We as goalies have to understand how much net we cover depending on our depth. The deeper we are the more net the shooter sees making it easier for them to score. The more we challenge the less net the shooter sees forcing them to deck instead of shoot. Thats the goal, force the shooter to make a move by taking away the net and holding the top of the crease.
