**Low, Large, and LOUD** Chicago O'Hare Planespotting - Heavy Departure Compilation ORD/KORD

Enjoy this spectacular compilation of departures out of Chicago O'Hare!! I was parked up against a hill and the end of the runway was only a few hundred feet away on the top of the hill. Although I wanted to, I couldn't park on top of the hill because security within the airport property has been kicking everyone (including members of ORD Airport Watch) out of there. I had to stay out of view of them and only go on weekends when the construction crew wasn't working. Even though this significantly hindered my view of the planes, it still worked out in its own way. The plane's engine sounds were muffled by the hill at first, followed by a spectacular explosion of sound once they emerged. It was also much quieter on the bottom of that hill since the sound from the road behind me is blocked by another hill. There were many surprises but by far the biggest ones were the two Lufthansa A340-600s near the end of the video. Lufthansa recently started using the A340-600 on their night time flight to Munich instead of their usual A350-900. It had been at least five years since an A340-600 came to ORD and with them being quickly retired, I never thought I'd see another one again. I am very happy that I was wrong about that since the A340-600 is one of my favorite planes of all time.
