A live figure skating tribute will be held at Capital One Arena in downtown Washington DC on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Details: https://www.capitalonearena.com/event... On January 29th, 2025, Eddie Zhou, his parents, and 64 others lost their lives in the Flight AA5342 tragedy in Washington D.C.. 28 of the passengers on the flight were skaters, parents, and coaches on their way home from the U.S. National Figure Skating Development Camp in Wichita, Kansas. Russ Witherby, 1992 US Ice Dance champion, Olympian, and skating director of the Philadelphia Skating Club, had these words to share about Eddie: "I was privileged to meet Edward Zhou in October, as he was a guest performer at our PSC 175th Anniversary Gala. Eddie, a very charismatic talented athlete, shared his love of skating while portraying a vibrant youthful energy. His 'giving' persona captivated the audience and was evident from practice to performance." Edward Zhou skated on behalf of the Skating Club of Northern Virginia at the Novice Men’s level, and was a 4-time U.S Figure Skating National Development Team member.
