The JMT 8’21 (Northbound)
This was a 20 day backpack trip from 8/26 to 9/15 on the John Muir Trail going northbound with my two buddies, John Amorosano and Gregg Messenger. We started at Horseshoe Meadow and went up over Old Army Pass en route up the backside of Mount Whitney to officially start the JMT. We were blessed with a relatively smoke free window to complete this adventure. In addition the Forest Service closed down the forest the Friday before Labor Day but allowed all of us already on trail to remain on trail which meant we had no crowds and pretty much all the great campsites all to ourselves. What a tremendous adventure!
