NYCT B32 Bus Ride (via B62 Route): 2018 New Flyer XDE40 9502 from Williamsburg to Long Island City

Taken on 5/1/22. Footage of 2018 New Flyer "Xcelsior" XDE40 9502 on the B32 from Williamsburg Bridge Plaza to Long Island City (21st Street & 44th Drive), via Bedford Avenue & Manhattan Avenue (B62 route & stops) in Brooklyn instead of its regular route. Due to the TD NYC 5 Boro Bike Tour, multiple streets were closed throughout northern Brooklyn. The MTA service advisory indicated that the B32 would have operated to/from Nassau Avenue & McGuinness Boulevard, and not operate into Queens, from 8 AM to 4 PM. Northbound buses were slated to operate on Berry Street between Broadway & North 14th Street, then take Nassau Avenue to McGuinness Boulevard. Southbound buses would take Norman Avenue to Wythe Avenue, and then resume regular route to Williamsburg. With a lot of these massive detours, you can bet that a lot of operators and/or and dispatchers did their own thing. The streets in Brooklyn were open sometime around the 3 PM mark, which was earlier than the 4 PM time, meaning that buses started headed to Queens earlier. This may have been the 3:00 PM from Williamsburg Bridge Plaza, although it left much later than that. It is very likely that dispatchers may have instructed the operator to go up Bedford Avenue and make B62 stops, since at the time the B32 bus left Williamsburg, the next B62 headed north just left Downtown Brooklyn.
