East Penn Railroad Octoraro, Wilmington & Northern Lines Early Spring 2019

As warmer weather creeps into Chester County, Pennsylvania, the East Penn Railroad's Octoraro and Wilmington & Northern Branches have seen an increase in freight traffic. Some of these trains are heavy enough that all four operable EMD GP Series locomotives are required to haul the freight. We were able to chase some of the trains as far east as Chadds Ford, PA, where the trains enter the Wilmington & Northern Line, and as far west as Toughkenamon, PA, where the track has seen better days. As of Monday March 11, 2019, East Penn's ex. Conrail GP10 no. 1700 is back in the Kennett Square shops where repairs will take place.
