Electronic Corpora are indispensable for computational linguistics; in addition to the availability and the accuracy the tasks can be done in few minutes. Nowadays both the qualitative and quantitative analyses of language are possible by the uses of Electronic corpora and computers. Computer corpus linguistics is the subfield of ‘corpus linguistics’. The term ‘computer corpus’ denotes linguistic data which exists in electronic form, and which may be processed by computer for linguistic research. Corpus annotation plays major role in linguistic research as it adds interpretative and linguistic information to an electronic linguistic corpus. This course will provide practical knowledge about corpus annotation.
