WWOR Commercial Breaks (August 28, 1991; Part 1)

Taken from back to back airings of Hart to Hart on WWOR-TV Channel 9, licensed to Secaucus, New Jersey and serving New York City. The station back then was branded as "Universal 9," in reference to then-owner MCA, which also owned Universal Studios (now owned by Comcast). The station was an independent at the time, eventually becoming the flagship for the UPN network in 1995, followed by program service MyNetworkTV in 2006. Currently the station is owned by MyNetworkTV's owners, the Fox Corporation, also owners of Fox flagship WNYW. WWOR never made headway as much as WNYW or WPIX did in the ratings, but they did have lots of memorable programs in their history, including Morton Downey, Howard Stern, Joe Franklin, the first US airings of Benny Hill, airing Godzilla/King Kong films around Thanksgiving, Mets baseball, and their primetime newscast (which folded in 2013). They were essentially the alternative to whatever WPIX or WNYW would be airing. And yes this tape was in rough quality. When I screened this on my TV the picture kept bobbing up and down. I later used tracking control to get better quality, but still some of these clips aren't the best in shape. (C) 1991 MCA Universal (now Comcast). WWOR is now owned by Fox Corporation.
