She also managed Arizona’s Project Safe Neighborhoods program, leading the state’s strategic approach to reducing gun and gang violence. Gail Wilczynski has over 41 years of experience in law enforcement, grant writing, and project development. She began her career as a police dispatcher for Sacramento PD before becoming a Sacramento County Sheriff's deputy, serving in roles ranging from jail officer and hostage negotiator to in-service training coordinator and court bailiff. After retiring, she transitioned to part-time peace officer and grant writer for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, and currently serves as assistant facility manager at the Jefferson County Sheriff's East Tennessee Regional Forensic Facility and Training Program.
