Life with Aaron Arnold -    / @lifewithaaronarnold   🇳🇴 *NORWEGIAN KINDERGARTEN Shocked This American! | American Reacts to Norway* As an American living in Europe, I had NO idea Norwegian kindergarten looked like THIS! 😱 In this video, I'm reacting to Norwegian kindergarten for the first time — and honestly, my mind was completely blown. This American reaction to Norway's kindergarten system left me speechless, and I think it will shock you too! --- 🔍 *What I Reacted To* I reacted to a documentary-style video exploring two Norwegian kindergartens — and the difference compared to the US is absolutely incredible. In Norway, children as young as ONE year old have the right to a kindergarten place. ONE! In the US, kindergarten doesn't even start until age three or four. That alone was wild to me as an American. --- ❄️ *Kids Outside in the Snow — All Day?!* One of the most shocking things in this American reaction to Norwegian kindergarten was watching these tiny kids play outside in minus one, minus two degree weather — FOR HOURS. In the US, kids would never be allowed outside in those temperatures during school. Never. These Norwegian kids were perfectly dressed, totally happy, and completely unbothered by the cold. The Norwegians even have a saying: *"There is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing."* I love that so much. --- 🐄 *Farm Animals, Knives, and Tree Climbing?!* As an American reacting to this, I could not believe what I was seeing. These kindergarten kids were: 🐷 Touching, feeding, and playing with pigs, sheep, cows, and hens 🌲 Climbing trees on their own 🔪 Using KNIVES to cut sticks — supervised, but still! 🥾 Going on hikes through the forest In the US, kids can't even leave the school building during the day. It's basically on lockdown from a safety standpoint. Watching these Norwegian kids have this kind of freedom and connection to nature genuinely shocked me — in the best possible way. --- 🧠 *What Norway Gets Right That the US Doesn't* The educators in this video made such a powerful point — children learn best through firsthand experience. Motor skills, nature, science, animals — these kids are developing in ways that US kids simply aren't. When I was in kindergarten or daycare, we were watching cartoons on TV. That's it. These Norwegian kids are building snowmen, learning where eggs come from, and using knives by age three. The contrast couldn't be more dramatic. --- 🤯 *My American Reaction* This was genuinely one of the most eye-opening reactions I've had since starting this channel. As an American discovering Europe, moments like this remind me why I love doing what I do. Norwegian culture, Norwegian education, Norwegian parenting — it all points to a society that truly trusts children to be children. And that's something the US could absolutely learn from. --- 🌍 *About Aaron Arnold Reacts: Europe* My name is Aaron, and on this channel I react to everything European — the culture, the people, the music, the sports, the food, and so much more — all from an American perspective.
