Setting up the Pioneer on bare rock with the entire city spread out below — beach curving along the coast, the mountains cutting into the skyline exactly where they're supposed to. The bass left the speakers and had nowhere to bounce off — no walls, no ceiling, just open air and eight million people who had no idea what was happening above them. One hour of dark techno played at a height where the city stops being loud and starts being a view.
