Zuzu the alpaca lives in Mogi das Cruzes, in Greater São Paulo, in an air-conditioned environment, with a balanced diet and a "baby" routine. The animal, a relative of the camel and llama, is docile and a symbol of the South American mountains. On the streets, many people confuse her: "That looks like a sheep," "it looks like a lamb," "kind of like a camel." "It's an alpaca," explains the reporter. Zuzu is famous on social media and has a video with over 13 million views. "She has air conditioning, just her feed costs R$400 a month," comments one interviewee. Her owner, Nathalia Valente, says she received the alpaca as a gift after seeing the animal in Angola. Zuzu arrived when she was about 20 days old and is now three months old. She lives freely around the house, nurses daily, and loves grated carrots. The price can vary between R$15,000 and R$25,000. During walks, the family recounts unusual moments. "She regurgitated and spat on me," recalls one of the owners. Despite the challenges, everyone is charmed. "The whole family loves her."
