I Took on Scotland's Wilderness – It Broke Me

Join me on a solo 3-day hiking and camping adventure in the heart of Scotland’s Fisherfield Forest, also known as the Last Wilderness of Britain. This unforgiving landscape, home to the remotest Munros and dramatic peaks, tested me in ways I didn’t expect. My goal was ambitious: conquer six remote summits—five Munros and one Corbett—in a 50km loop, battling scree fields, river crossings, and one of the worst bogs imaginable. I thought I was ready. I wasn’t. The relentless terrain, a massive swarm of biting midges, and the weight of my pack pushed me to my limits. Somewhere along the way, the challenge broke me, leaving this journey unfinished. It was a humbling experience in Scotland’s wildest, most remote mountains—a brutal trial that I underestimated. Watch as I navigate stunning vistas, brutal conditions, and reflect on how this adventure became more about growth than victory. Wondering why comments are off?
