GURUSAGARAM GURUKRITY SANGEETHA KACHERI - EPISODE-2 MANNANTHALADEVI STHAVAM | KEERTHANA RAMESH

Mannanthala Devisthavam is a Hymn to the Goddess composed by Sree Narayana Guru. This work was written and given to devotees to worship after the Guru performed the installation of Goddess Pratishtha at Mannanthala in Thiruvananthapuram in 1899. The Mannanthaladevi Temple was a temple of the goddess who was worshipped with liquor and meat. By replacing that idol and ending such worship, a Goddess was installed to be prayed to in a pure manner. In this work, the goddess is sought for help in overcoming the 'thrigunas' and moving towards the ultimate goal of life, liberation- Moksha. Here, Mannanthaladevisthavam is sung in the Ranjini raga.
