Apparently, that was enough to send half the Godzilla fandom into meltdown mode. I explain why the idea that “kaiju movies shouldn’t have human characters” is not just wrong—it’s completely missing the point of the genre. From Gojira (1954) to Shin Godzilla and Godzilla Minus One, the human element has always been essential to what makes these stories work. I also respond to TheRedHeadHenry’s bizarre, bigoted meltdown / crashout after being ratio’d for saying future Godzilla movies should have zero human characters.
