Recording a Podcast to Tape

Today we record a podcast to tape / cassette. Is this something you should do? No. But it’s a fun experiment to run. For this experiment I record using the Tascam Ministudio Porta 02, a “vintage” home studio 4-track recorder. The full signal chain is: SM7b through the fethead, into the Rupert Neve Portico 5017, into the Yamaha MG10XU, and then into the Porta02. 00:00 - Intro 00:17 - Gear Used in Test 00:38 - Types of Cassettes 01:31 - History of Home 4 Track Home Studio Recording Decks 02:05 - How 4-Track Recorders Work 03:19 - Setting Up The Recording 04:41 - Test Recording 04:51 - Transferring the Cassette to the Computer 06:32 - Issue with Syncing to Video 07:13 - Podcast Recording Sample 07:49 - Final Thoughts 09:10 - Conclusion Subscribe For More Videos: https://www.youtube.com/podcastage?su...
