The Roads We Didn't Take Well, here it is—the fifth song I've created for what I hope will soon become my next band, Storm Rising. For those of you who knew me back in my Stormer days, you know that music has never really left my heart. Even after all these years, I've continued to dream about writing original songs, finding the right musicians, and once again feeling the excitement of bringing new music to life on stage. The Roads We Didn't Take was born from the realization that as we grow older, we all occasionally look back and wonder about the choices we made and the ones we didn't. What if I had gone left instead of right? What if I had taken that chance? What if I had held on a little longer—or let go a little sooner? The truth is, none of us can know where those other roads might have led. Some may have brought greater success. Others may have brought greater heartbreak. But every choice, every victory, every setback, and every lesson helped shape the people we are today. This song is dedicated to everyone who has ever reflected on their past, wondered about the possibilities, and come to appreciate the journey that brought them to this moment. For me, this song is especially personal. Like many of you, I've experienced triumphs, disappointments, unexpected detours, and second chances. Looking back, there are certainly roads I didn't take—but there are also countless blessings that came from the road I did. So while this song asks the question, "What might have been?" it also celebrates the idea that our lives are the sum of every choice we've made, every dream we've chased, and every obstacle we've overcome.
