For years, Sheila Nabuuma Wavamunno battled unbearable pain caused by endometriosis and adenomyosis—pain so severe that it slowly began affecting her kidney. Doctors eventually told her she had to make an impossible choice: save her uterus or save her kidney. She chose her life. Today, Nabuuma lives with the reality that she may never carry children of her own. But through pain, grief, and acceptance, she has come to embrace a truth that many women still struggle to say aloud: a woman’s worth is not defined solely by her ability to bear children.
