I’m gonna be changing my cold water outside tap to be able to produce hot water. Now for me, I don’t use my outside tap for water in the garden. All I mean to use it for is washing the cars in the vans and also Phil and my kids paddling pool in the summer so having a cold water tap is less of an essential thing for me and if I really want cold water because I have a Combi boiler all I have to do is flip the switch off.. To be able to do this, we need to fit a mix valve underneath the kitchen sink which is where all the Plumbing is and this will allow the codes to blend with the hot to give a nice safe temperature out of your house pipe. The last thing you want is 60 to 65° coming out of your house as you’re just gonna get steam everywhere and a risk of scolding! We’ll start by isolating in the mains water and cutting a few pipes to fit new isolation valves. The blending valve has built-in check valves so I’m not gonna be installing any new ones but if you have a vented system then it might be a good thing to fit your own check valves just in case as you don’t want mains water accidentally pushing up your hot which could lead to your roof tank overflowing. If you really want to use just one tap then you can cut a bypass cold water pipe in but that depends on if you have space underneath space underneath my unit is it the best? So I opted just for minimal effort and to have just the hot water option coming out of the top.. You can always have two taps outside, but I wanted the minimal look but sit back. What should we do? A lot of soldering? I’ve gone back to old and feed fittings as I know a lot of you like to watch the soldier run round so enjoy a bit of that if there’s any questions, make sure you leave it down below in a comment like the video and subscribe always if you are new I’ll see you on the next one
