Saint Mugagga Lubowa was a Muganda of the Leopard clan, born around 1869 in Jjalamba, Mawokota. He was baptized by Saint Charles Lwanga on May 26, 1886, and became a page in the palace of King Mwanga. Despite facing threats for his chastity, he remained strong in faith and was known for his intelligence and cooperative nature. He was martyred at Namugongo on June 3, 1886, at the age of 16, becoming a symbol of resistance against persecution. He is recognized as the patron of community development, culture, and home craft
