Javier Paredes is Professor Emeritus of Contemporary History at the University of Alcalá. A pioneer of the biographical genre, he has published several biographies of prominent politicians and business leaders of the 19th and 20th centuries. He is the editor of the Contemporary History of Spain and the Contemporary History of the World series published by Ariel, which have been used as textbooks in many Spanish universities for years. Author of numerous books and articles, he has published the following with San Román: "Saints in Short Pants," "To Heaven in Short Socks," "The Wounds of Sister Patrocinio," and "Biography of Sister Patrocinio (1811-1891)." He also annotated the book by Sister María Isabel de Jesús, "Admirable Life, Sister María de los Dolores y Patrocinio," published by San Román. He combines his university work with contributions to various media outlets, including television, radio, and print. He is a columnist for the newspaper Hispanidad, the oldest digital newspaper in Spain.
