Richard Raffan finds a bowl in a split claret ash blank.
This ash was splitting on the endgrain. You see how I turn away the splits, then develop a bowl profile from what remains. You see all the turning in real time including, at the end, removing a chuck mark on the foot. Sanding the inside, you see rotary sanding using an angle drill. The bowl is claret ash 190x105mm or 7½”x4⅛" — Sorry about tools rattling on the bench.
