This Take Almost Replaced the Final Version | Strawberry Fields Forever (Take 6)
After the arduous recording of Revolver (1966) and having stopped playing live, The Beatles took a short holiday to devote themselves to their personal lives and families. In this context, we focus on John Lennon, who was returning from filming How I Won the War. During those days, he stayed in Spain, where he recorded the famous demo of ‘No One I Think Is in My Tree’. Thus, on 29 November of that same year, the Fab Four reunited to work on new material, and one of those attempts was this song, which, unbeknownst to them, would end up becoming an anthem. In this video, we analyse the song as it existed before the final edit, when it had not yet been decided to combine two takes recorded in completely different tempos, keys and moods. Here we hear a more organic, restrained and psychologically different version, which allows us to better understand The Beatles' creative process during one of their most experimental and psychedelic periods. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Single (1967) Personnel: John Lennon - 1965 Epiphone Casino Paul McCartney - Mellotron MK II (flute) George Harrison - Maracas Ringo Starr - 1964 Ludwig Super Classic Drums I would like to mention that the lead vocal in this video is the overdub, which was recorded in the same session ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Get exclusive multitracks! join me on Patreon: / dld2music Thanks to my current Patreons: Jacob Thomas, Eli Rosen, Ilan, Sylvain Paquette, One_After_909, jack sadlier, Frontpenny. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- #thebeatlesvideo #johnlennon #paulmccartney #georgeharrison #TheBeatles
