Perché il sequel di SUPERCAR è stato un FALLIMENTO totale? 🚗❌

KNIGHT CAR 2000: The return that destroyed the KITT myth? "Knight Rider 2000, known in Italy as Indagine ad alta velocità. This 1991 television movie was actually the pilot episode of the television series Knight Rider, intended to create a sequel, but unfortunately this pilot episode failed. It failed for many reasons: one of them was the car, the "red tomato" that they wanted to pass off as our beloved KITT. They got the color wrong, the car model wrong, and the design wrong. Personally, the car was unwatchable. Also because the project was based on nostalgic fans of the original series, and therefore they had to stick more faithfully to the series. But why does it have this design? In 1990, Pontiac had created the concept that prefigured the Firebird of the 90s and called it Banshee. The concept was and is truly wonderful and even today it seems futuristic, let alone in '91. So the production asked GM to lend them the Banshee concept to use in this pilot, but GM categorically refused for several reasons, not The final factor was financial, as creating a fully functional concept car required millions of dollars. So the production team took a then-new Dodge Stealth, which boasted a cutting-edge design, but instead of settling for the production car, which would have been a perfect fit, they commissioned a body shop to replicate the look of the Pontiac Banshee Concept as closely as possible. The result, which was quite disastrous, is what we saw in the film. This TV movie first aired on NBC on May 19, 1991. In Italy, it aired on Italia 1 on July 14, 1995. In fact, it arrived a bit late and was also rerun under the title Supercar 2000. Subscribe to this channel to access the benefits:    / @serieefilmcult
