Cars Don't Get Built Like This Anymore...
Chris Rünge and his son Fin build cars the way they were built before anyone figured out how to do it faster: by hand, one at a time, out of bare aluminum, in a Minnesota barn. Now his son is at the bench beside him. Rünge Cars are bespoke, hand-formed sports cars inspired by the Porsche and Glöckler racers of the 1950s, no two alike and nothing replicated. Chris taught himself the craft of coachbuilding, a trade most of the world has let go of, and he's passing it to his son Fin. This short film follows a father and son who shape aluminum bodywork over wooden bucks one panel at a time, and build cars meant to outlast the men who make them. A Good Oil Days film, produced by Overcrest in partnership with Mobil 1. #RungeCars #Coachbuilding #HandBuilt #Mobil1 #GoodOilDays #FatherAndSon #BespokeCars #Automotive #CarCulture #Craftsmanship
