VITILIGO

Vitiligo is an acquired disorder of chronic skin depigmentation with a variable clinical course, characterized by selective, patchy loss of melanocytes in the skin. It has an autoimmune etiology, along with a genetic predisposition. Its clinical course is divided into segmental and non-segmental forms. Its distribution can be acrofacial, unilateral, generalized, or universal. Treatment of limited variants is based on topical corticosteroids and calcineurin antagonists.
