Shot Peening Intensity - How to perform an Almen Strip Test - Electronics Inc Shotpeening

The shot peening process needs to be controlled to insure failure-resistant parts resulting in longer part life and safe air travel. The main way to measure the shot peening process is by determining the "intensity" at which the media strikes the part. SAE, AMS and J specifications call for the use of an "Almen Strip Test" to measure this blast stream intensity. This video reviews the basic elements of an Almen Strip Test and enforces the need to use certified equipment to insure accurate results.
