📌 There's still time to prepare, but no time to lose. Since January 1, 2026, structured electronic invoicing has become mandatory in Belgium for transactions between VAT-registered businesses (B2B). This requirement is part of the fight against VAT fraud and the digitalization of accounting processes. 👉 Good news! The tax authorities are allowing an administrative grace period from January 1 to March 31, 2026, if you can demonstrate that the implementation process is underway. 👉 So there's still time to act to avoid penalties. ⏳ Administrative grace period: yes, but under what conditions? No fine will be applied if the company can prove: • that a compliance project has been launched • that a service provider, software, or integrator has been identified • that the connection to the Peppol network is underway or planned ⚠️ However, inaction or the absence of proof will result in administrative fines. 💸 Amount of the fines For failure to comply with the electronic invoicing obligation: • ❌ 1st offense: €1,500 • ❌ 2nd offense: €3,000 • ❌ From the 3rd offense onwards: €5,000 per offense 👉 These fines can be avoided if you demonstrate that implementation is underway. 🔗 Why is Peppol central to this reform?
