Dream Flights Honor Senior Veterans in OKC
Nonprofit Dream Flights is landing in Bethany to honor senior veterans from Oklahoma long-term care communities with flights in a restored WWII Stearman biplane. During the 15-minute flight, Dream Flyers experience the freedom and exhilaration of soaring 1,000 feet in an iconic, open-cockpit biplane once used to train military aviators during WWII. After landing, each veteran receives a Dream Flights baseball cap signed by a pilot. World War II veterans will sign the aircraft’s tail, a tradition that started during Operation September Freedom, a 61-day tour in 2021 honoring 891 members of the Greatest Generation.
