The circuit trail from Botorog's Fountain to Curmătura Chalet is a popular hiking excursion in the Piatra Craiului mountain area, perfect for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. Curmătura Chalet is a renowned mountain retreat located in the Piatra Craiului Mountains at an altitude of 1470 meters. Accessible only on foot, it can be reached via various hiking trails that start near Botorog's Fountain, close to Zărnești. The chalet is open year-round, offering a unique experience for mountain lovers. The chalet provides camping space for 10 to 15 tents. As for food, visitors can enjoy traditional dishes at affordable prices. Curmătura Chalet has an impressive history, built between 1936 and 1937 on the site of a former hunting refuge. Officially inaugurated on August 22, 1937, it was initially managed by the Transylvanian Carpathian Society of Tourists (S.K.V.). After the communist era, the cabin underwent several renovations, the latest modernization taking place in 2011. However, due to a lack of resources, running water could not be brought to the site. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes, Curmătura Chalet is an excellent starting point for hikes, regardless of the season.
