San Marino. 🇸🇲 Officially the Republic of San Marino, is an ancient, landlocked microstate completely surrounded by Italy near the Adriatic coast. Founded in 301 A.D., it is considered the world's oldest republic. With a population of roughly 34,000, it features a stunning, mountainous landscape dominated by Mount Titano. The Three Towers: Iconic 11th-century citadels located on the peaks of Mount Titano. Economy: Highly driven by tourism, services, and small manufacturing. Visitors: The country hosts over 3 million visitors annually. A 2 minute funicular railway ride (€7 return) takes you up to the top.
