Адольф Гитлер - Речь 30-го января 1940 г. "Кто хотел войны?"

On the 30th of January 1940, Adolf Hitler made a big speech in Berlin's Schportpalast. The occasion was the seventh anniversary of the Machtübernahme - the seizure of power by the NSDAP. In this speech, the Führer touched on various topics, from the work that had been done in the past seven years, starting with the revolution of ‘33, to the state of affairs at the beginning of 1940. The so-called ‘Strange War’ was in full swing, and Hitler sought to draw a clear line of demarcation between National Socialism and the degenerate Western democracies. The sanctimonious attitude of Western leaders to the subject of religion, their failure to bring peace and prosperity to post-war Europe, and their policy of double standards were also important topics. The speech mentions other heads of state such as Chamberlain, Churchill, Daladier and Stalin. Reference is made to the futile German attempts to achieve peace, and the successful military action when these attempts failed. The speech was an important propaganda event for Germany. Its purpose was to raise morale and motivate the population.
