Webinar: Recent Changes and Updates to Fire Safety Standards

This Webinar provided by John Davidson of the National Security Inspectorate will look at the following: Recent changes and updates to fire safety standards including PAS 79 – Fire Risk Assessment and the introduction of BS 8629 – Evacuation Alert Systems. It will also look at two recently introduced BAFE fire certification schemes – SP 206 for Kitchen Fire Suppression Systems and SP 207 for Evacuation Alert Systems. Speaker Bio As Head of Field Operations – Systems, John leads NSI’s team of 26 expert auditors operating in the UK and Ireland assessing companies against the requirements of NSI security schemes and the BAFE fire certification schemes. He also ensures NSI maintains its UKAS accreditation as a certification body in these disciplines. The team delivers in the region of 2500 inspection/audit days per year with oversight of over 1200 fire safety and security systems providers and alarm receiving centres. He is engaged in the development of BSI standards and represents NSI on FSH 12 & FSH12/1 and is involved in the development of BS 8629 and the revision of PAS 79. John is also a member of a number of BAFE scheme development groups. John is a member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (I.E.T) and the Institute of Fire Safety Managers (IFSM) and a specialist member of the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management (IIRSM). He is also a registered IRCA Principal Auditor and a practitioner of the Chartered Quality Institute.
