You don't get a proper website name 2. Website is extremely slow 3. Your website will have ads on it So, you fall into the trap of sinking HOURS designing your website with a free website builer, but once it's time to publish only then will they showcase all of the downsides. Of course, at that point you've already spent hours on your website design. So, you're more willing to purchase the cheapest tier instead of using the free one. It's all a marketing trick. However, during my search for the best free website builders, I've found one that doesn't have all of the predatory tactics, offers great website speed and the downsides are minimal — Carrd.co. While other free website builders like Wix, Wordpress.com, Jimdo, UCRAFT, Canva, GoDaddy, etc, were pretty much a waste of time in my experience.
